More Christmas cards!

I have made another Christmas card today for the LGS sketchie challenge (CB). The challenge was to follow the sketch set by Sharon and to use the recipe something festive, something gold and some checks. The image I have used is by Willow Designs and I have coloured it with PMs as usual.I will also enter this card into this weeks I love Promarkers challenge (Christmas in July) and ABC Christmas challenge (P is for presents- Walter the owl is standing next to lots of presents in the image).

LGS 29th May

This weeks challenge on lgs is to follow the sketch set by Karen and only use two colours. I have made two cards today using CC design images sent to me from Clare. (Thankyou again Clare x.) The first uses the colours green and pink. I tried out Karen's Flowers from her second tutorial. (I filled the centres with glitter glue to make them a little different.)On the second card I have gone for the colours green and purple and have made spiral quilled flowers using a tutorial I saw on Passion for Promarkers.
For both cards I have coloured peel off with Promarkers to change their colour.

Things from the bottom of the craft stash!

This weeks challenge on LGS (CB) was a sketchie set by GDT Kathy and the twist to use things or techniques which you haven't used before or haven't used for a long time- a perfect opportunity to use the things which I have had at the bottom of the pile for ages. So in this card I have used some shrink plastic for a mini Messy Rabbit embellishment, Friendly Plastic to make a flower (had that for over 15 years and so it didn't work that well since it was brittle when I cut it), jigsaw photo frame (had them for 5 years) and Fiskars Shape Boss to add the stars to the frame (had that for a year or so and almost never use it- got it in a charity shop for a bargin!).I wasn't planning on making another entry for this weeks I love Promarkers, but since I have made my own flower (or more of a squiggle) I will enter this as well!

Last nights work!

I made this card yesterday after Lauren (CB) sent me this beautiful LOTV image- thankyou so much. It is perfect fro this weeks theme on LGS (CB) and so I have used Rosie's sketch (again!).

I have added two lace bows as embellishments and so will enter the card into this weeks DCD (challenge is lace). Thanks for the inspiration on DCD, since lace is not something I normally think of using, but I love the DT cards and so am thinking of investing in some larger pieces of lace. Sorry my lace on this card is a bit merge, but it is all I have. I hope the lacey style border and flower paper also count towards the lace theme.

I will also enter the card into this weeks Pollycraft challenge of summer blooms since I have added two flowers!

LGS 15th May

This weeks LGS (Craftbubble) challenge was a sketch set by Rosie and the theme of food. I have used my French Lofty (holding bread, garlic and crossiant).

Glamour

This weeks lgs challenge (CB) was to follow the sketch set by Lauren and to add a touch of glamour. I have made a wedding card using an image Clare kindly sent me yesterday.

Make your own flowers #3

This is my third card this week for the challenge 'make your own flowers', but there are three challenges doing it, (lgs (craftbubble), DCD and Pollycraft) and so three cards seems the right number!

I know this is a bit of a joke interpretation, but I had the idea and wanted to do it. What do you make real flowers from? seeds, of course. Hence on this card I have made some flowers out of sunflower seeds! (My favourite flower along with daffs in spring.) There are also two small punched flowers. the sketch is from this weeks lgs challenge, set by Karen, and the image is one from Pollycraft.

Make your own flowers # 2

This weeks challenge on lgs (Craftbubble) was a sketch set by Karen and the twist was 'make your own flowers'. I made this card and since the challenges on DCD and Pollycraft are also 'make your own flowers' this week, I will enter this card there as well.The flowers are my first attempt at the ones which Karen gave a tutorial on DCD on how to make this week. I am really pleased with the outcome- especially as I didn't have the Sizzix die nor proper distressing inks and cut and dry foam (I made templates of the petals for myself and used an old ink pad for the distressing). It did take me over 3 hours to make the card though, so I think I will only be making those flowers for special occasions!

Butterflies and orange

I made this card for this weeks LGS challenge (CB) which is a sketchie set by Katie! The twist was butterflies. Since I have used orange papers I will also enter it into this weeks ECP challenge which is to use orange.

Double Trouble

I made this card for this weeks LGS sketchie challenge (Craftbubble). The sketch was set by GDT Clare and the theme was seeing double because it used two images and two embellishments. The images were sent to me in a stamp swap.

Spring Garden

This weeks challenge on Lets Get Stamping (CraftBubble) was to follow the sketch by Lauren and use the theme 'spring garden'. I made these two cards. They both have the free papers from the inside of the latest issue of Cardmaking and Papercraft as well as some others I downloaded. the pony is a stamp I got from the seconds at the NEC a couple of years ago (Little Claires stamps I think) and the mouse is a freebie from Digistamp boutique (I think it is meant to be a male mouse since he is called Malcolm, but I have made him female here!).

Pink and Green

This weeks challenge on LGS (Craftbubble) was a sketch set by Karen and the twist was to use the colours pink and green. I made this card using an image I received from a image swap on Craftbubble. The flower I made myself by folding up some paper- I have seen them in a magazine to buy and thought I'd have ago at making them instead!I will also enter this into the Pollycraft Monday Challenge which is becoming weekly from now on! The theme this week is 'anything goes'. They have launched some ace new digi stamps and have some fab prizes this week too! I will try and make a card just for this challenge too (feel a bit lazy entering something for two), but I have loads of work to do and so not sure I will have time.

LGS- 27th March

This weeks challenge was a sketch set by Rosie. The twist was to include buttons and to make a card for a man. I made these two cards with Joanna Sheen bear stamps which I got for Christmas 2008. I like them because they are appropriate for Dad, who likes watching sport on TV and doing DIY.

Lets Get Stamping-20th March

This weeks sketchie was set by Cindy (GDT) and the twist was to include one of the three b's (one button, brad and bow). I made two cards- one with a Mousekins image and one with a High Hopes Dragon image. (Both images were sent to me in an image swap on Craftbubble- thankyou!).

My Favourite Things

I made this card for the lgs goup (craftbubble) using the sketch set by Lauren. (The sketch has been changed a bit- hope this is ok). The twist was 'favourite things'. This is my favourite High Hopes Dragon image that I got in the last stamp swap; I have used glossy accents to make the dragon shiny (which is one of my favourite things at the moment); I used a powder blue promarker to go round the image (my favourite colour!); and I have used my favourite buttons.I will enter the card into this weeks Pixie Dust Studio challenge because the theme is flowers and buttons, both of which I have used on this card.

St Patrick's Day

I made this card for the LGS (Craftbubble) challenge this week. The sketch was set by Lauren and the twist was 'favourite things'. I think I might have twisted it a bit by making a St Patricks day card for Mum on the idea that my family fall under the catagory of 'favourite things'. I also really like this stamp and I like trying out new ideas and have used one of the torn paper flowers which I saw how to make on Katie Jane's blog (Am I a Dreamer).

Distressing

This weeks sketchie on Lets Get Stamping (Craftbubble) was set by Karen and the twist was to include distressing. Since the current Pollycraft challenge is to make a card with distressing I will enter these cards for that as well.

I'm not that good at distressing and found it distressing not to be using straight edges! These are my attempts. I think it might help if I had the right equipment and some distressing inks, but I made do with what I had already.

One card uses Missy download from Willow Designs and the other uses a chick from Pink Petticoat. The embossing on the chick card was done by hand using an old brass embossing stencil from Papermania and a light box.

Lets Get Stamping- 27th February

Yesterdays sketchie was set by Rosie and the twist was to include digi images or papers- something digi at any rate! There is a special prize offered this week- one of Sharon Armstrong's great downloads from Willow Designs. Hence the aim was to think creatively.

I couldn't get on the internet last night and so had plenty of time to make this card. The image is a digi one from Pollycraft, which I got last week. I tried to make the card a bit special by making a shaker out of the image and using handmade paper roses. The sketch has been rotated by 90 degrees too.

(I don't normally make many wedding cards, but a friend asked if I would make some for her to give this year and so decided to make a start.)

Lets Get Stamping- 20th February

This weeks sketch was set by Han (GDT) and the twist was to include animals. I had this great dragon free download which i wanted to use on a card (maybe stretching it a bit with the animals?) and made another with a Pink Petticoat Easter chick, from which I have cut off the greeting a made a birthday card.

LGS Sketchie 13th February

This weeks challenge was set by Lauren and the twist this week was that the main element couldn't be a stamped image, but since it is a stamping group there had to be some stamping on the card. This was quite difficult, but I made a heart from Iris folding one one card and a butterfly (the vellum is stamped with gold flowers but not that visable in the photo) on the other.
