To the new Mr and Mrs

When I was making an anniversary card for my parents I decided to also make a few wedding cards.  I'm now selling my cards online (as well as in person) at Bentley Heath Country Market.  The market is setting up an online shop on the Open Food Network Uk.  Sorry it is collection only, but you might like to look at OFN to see if there is an outlet near you.  They are quite small in the UK at the moment, but are a very successful online retail outlet for Artisan Food, Plant and Craft producers in Australia.
Enough blurb, this is one of the wedding cards I made recently:

Thankyou Molly

Molly came over from Ireland for about 7 weeks to help Bentley Heath Country Markets start to set up on the Open Food Network Uk.  She flies back home today and I made her a card as a little thankyou.
(The theme of Country Markets is 'cook, craft, grow' as it sells home-cooked, home-made and home-grown produce.  I tried to include all three aspects on the card, as well as the words- girl with a wooden spoon (cooking), backing papers with sewing/fabric images (craft) and paper flowers (grow).)

I used 'Graduation Monster' on my card.
Hope you are inspired to join in this week :-)

Happy Anniversary!

Mum and Dad's anniversary today and for once I remembered to make them a card in advance.  Used a Bugaboo image.

Happy Birthday Mum!

Mum's birthday today and I wanted to make her a card (I usually do!).  This year I used one of Clare Llyod's PaperArtsy stamps together with a paper stack I got a few months ago (and is 'favour of the month' for me at the moment).

Happy Birthday Rosie!

I wanted to make Rosie a special birthday card this year.  I know she likes cats- Jazz is their cat.  He is elderly and not too well, but very much loved.

Wedding season

I guess seeing as it is summer, it is the wedding season.  Best make a few wedding cards then!  I enjoyed going to town on this one.  It uses a DigiStamp Boutique image and my favourite type of hand made rolled roses :-)

Zine swap with friends

Kathy suggested we have a 'friendship' themed zine swap on CMLI and I was tempted to join in.  never made a Zine before.  Mine was done on watercolour paper, stamped in Staz-on and coloured with watercolours.  The stamps were from Clearly Besotted.

Zentangling An Elephant!

I aim to go along with Bentley Heath Country Market to Art in the Park in Leamington this year- I was due to go last year but was ill on the day (tummy bug- you don't want the details!!).  This year's theme is 'The Three Graces' which are actually three elephants which were kept in Leamington to entertain the visitors to the spa.
Mum bought back from France this old ceramic elephant that had seen better days and so I set about upcycling :-)  A coat or two of acrylic eggshell furniture paint and then lots of zentangling with black fineliners.

Crafting for Marie Curie

It's the National Marie Curie 'Tea Party' event this weekend.  I have friends who volunteer at a local MC hospice most weeks, running a craft/art group in daycare.  They are keen fundraisers too and are going to have a craft stall at Marston Green fete on 1st July in aid of Marie Curie's tea party event.  The craft stall will sell things they have made- they are all very talented artists and so it is well worth a look and it all goes to a good cause.
I offered to make a few cards and some brooches for the stall too.
There is an 'English Tea Party' theme to all the craft so hoping these go down well :-)

Happy Birthday Hazel!

I believe today is Hazel's 80th birthday.  A new friend who I met through Bentley Heath Country Market and with whom I go to a craft group most Wednesdays.
Made using a DigiStamp Boutique Truffle image.

Celebrate with Winston

I used a fairly old image from a DigiStamp Boutique set to make this card- an image and character that will never date though- in my view.  Owls are even more popular these days than they were 5 years ago.

Monster Birthday

I love monsters on cards- so fun to make.  I played around with some Papermania die cut papers to make this card using a DigiStamp Boutique image.

It's been too long

This Just ME digital stamps image made me smile.  How many people do you know that you keep thinking you really should drop a line to and get in touch with?  I'm sure we all have lots.

Party time

I used this DigiStamp Boutique 'new year dog' image to make a 'congratulations' card which I thought would be good for exam results season in August.

Today's about YOU!

A fun image from the DigiStamp Boutique Maddie set- perfect for female birthdays and 'just because' cards.

Good Luck Turkey

Perhaps a bit late for the 'good luck in your exams' season but I thought I'd make a card using images from this DigiStamp Boutique farmyard set.  Not sure how much 'luck' a turkey brings when they are generally destined for dinner on 25th Dec- lol!

A Birthday Order

I was asked to make a birthday card for someone's husband who was turning 60 and is a photography enthusiast. Luckily DigiStamp Boutique released a camera set of images last month which saved my bacon.
I printed the camera onto different background papers and pieced them together.  Then I cut out the 'lens' to make a shaker card, using the new brush strokes sentiments as a background.
I'm hoping this is well received.

Happy 80th Annie!

A spurt of 80th birthdays at the Country Market :-)  I made this for Annie who loves all things cute.  Hope you have a lovely day.
Made using a DigiStamp Boutique image.

Some girly cards

I really need to make more 'girly' cards as I am often asked for them or need them to give to friends.  This set of three all use different DigiStamp Boutique images.
 Pink enough???

New Home Order

I was asked to make a 'New Home' card for 4 people moving into a new house.  It is quite difficult to find images for house warming cards with more than one 'person'/character on them.  I used a 'little birdie told me' set from DigiStamp Boutique where you get multiple images that you can arrange as you want them.
In case the sender wasn't happy with this card, I made a second (this time with only one 'character' in front of the 'house': it is after all the person sending the card saying 'good luck in your new home' to the people in the house, so only needs one figure outside(???  or is this my weird logic?).)

A fun male greetings card using a DigiStamp Boutique image.

Mini Zig Zag book

I decided to make an effort to join in with the Mini Marvels FB group swap this month- they have some inspiring swaps which I often browse at and think I should have a go...
This month it was to make a zig zag book.  I have seen others make this accordion style mini book recently and thought I'd have a go.
Front- held together with twine tied onto safety pins
The background 'papers' were made using mixed media (acrylic paints and various inks) with stamps, stencils and other bits and bobs.
Inside I have used quotes from a Clearly Besotted Stamp set: 'Today a reader, tomorrow a leader', 'Think before you speak, read before you think' and 'Sleep is good, books are better'.
'The End'

Just to say

You never know when you just need to send a card to say 'hello' and I think this DigiStamp Boutique dragon with flowers image is just perfect for that message.

Female DIY

No reason why women can't do (or even enjoy) a bit of DIY- I do!  (and Mum loves painting walls etc).  Hence I thought I'd use this DigiStamp Boutique image to make a new home card in feminine colours.

Sunday, 14 May 2017

Cheers!

I know this is an older DigiStamp Boutique image but I still like it.  A good one for male birthday cards I think.
