I have shied away from making 'with sympathy' cards for years. There have been occasions (of course) when perhaps I should have sent one, but I just couldn't put that sentiment on the card- it usually ended up being a 'thinking of you' or 'best wishes'/'with love' card.
Recently someone suggested making these cards at random times and having a few in stock- that way you don't have to make them when you are mourning the loss of someone. I thought I would give it a go. This is a simple card with brush stroke lettering (Digi Stamp Boutique) and handmade flowers.
I know someone who likes to send cards to her friends with the sentiment 'hugs' on the front. I guess it is quite a good 'cover all bases' greeting. I made these two cards using stamped images I found in my drawer...
I know everyone else did 'Christmas in July' to get them kick started with Christmas crafting... I'm a bit late but I printed off some images from a set I bought last year from DigiStamp Boutique but didn't get round to using.
I love these sets as you can arrange the images how you like to make little 'scenes' :-)
I have been busy making for Art in the Park this weekend over the last few weeks. The theme of the event is the Three Graces (3 elephants which lived in Leamington to entertain visitors to the spa). So anything elephant/circus/floral.
This weeks Sketch Saturday challenge is sponsored by MMedelIllustrations on Etsy. I love their designs- so cute. One lucky winner will get 2 free digital images and a discount coupon.
I have used the fox from the 'Bear, Fox and Bunny' set along with some new papers that I bought in May for my birthday (present to self!). How do you like these flowers? Trying out a different variation of my normal handmade ones....
Hope you are inspired to join in this week :-)
A while since I have made a baby card and I thought it is always good to have one in stock (Mum asks for them at random occasions, when I didn't even know someone had been pregnant). This one uses a DigiStamp Boutique image.
