Getting ready for London 2012!

It's my month to be GDT for the CMLI challenge and I think I might have got a bit carried away with making sample cards...  oh dear.  I guess that just means that you are in for a lengthy post- lol!
Anyway, I'm rather taken with the fact that the Olympics will be held in the Uk this time since I think it is probably a once in my lifetime event.  I was extremely lucky to get tickets to the swimming heats in the first round of ticket allocations this time last year.  They are actually a 30th birthday present to my friend and so we are going together on 31st July.  I will skive the end of my molecular simulation(!) summer school and she  is scribing hard in the office to all hours to be able to submit her PhD thesis by the opening ceremony!
So, the theme for this months CMLI challenge (which will open 30th June and close 21st July before my summer school) is 'be inspired by London 2012'.  And if you want any ideas, here are my collection of cards so far:
The background text paper is one I made.  Help yourself if you want:
Swimming, using a DigiStamp Boutique image:
Celebrating/Patriotic using a DigiStamp Boutique image:
Cycling using a Pollycraft image:
Sailing using a Pollycraft image:
And finally patriotic with London Lofty:
Two other cards which I posted recently (one a Patriotic and the other a football card) were ones I also made with this challenge in mind.
I will enter these cards into this weeks I love Promarkers (anything goes) and Cute Card Thursday (patriotic) challenges and this months DigiStamp Boutique competition.
And in case you need any more inspiration, then if you are a member of CMLI on Craftbubble and enter the challenge then you are in with a chance of winning a little prize.

Summer holidays

Well if there is no summer outside then we have to try and pretend inside and so I have made a summer holiday card using a Stampfairy image I have had for ages and never used before.  I will enter the card into this weeks Cute Card Thursday (summer), Di's digidownloads (spots) and Passion for Promarkers (pastels and glitter) challenges.

Away in a Manger

This weeks ABC Christmas challenge is 'L is for lyrics'. I made a card last week but wasn't that happy with it and so have made another today.  This time I have used a Digistamp Boutique image.  I will also enter the card into this weeks Sweet Sketch Wednesday (sketch) challenge.

Merci

Dad goes to French lessons most weeks but last week he came home to say that his teacher was leaving to go back to France and so I thought I'd make a card.  I have used my French Lofty stamp which really should see the light of day more often rather than being stuck in a box.
I will enter the card into this weeks Willow Sketchie (sketch) and Di' digidownloads (spots and dots) challenges.

Monochrome Wedding

I normally opt for white on white colour scheme for wedding cards but thought I'd branch out a bit this week and have made a black and white one.  I will enter the card into this weeks Passion for Promarkers (at least 3 layers) and Sweet Sketch Wednesday (sketch) challenges.

Knight in Shining Armour

I just love this Pollycraft image and after buying it a couple of weeks ago had to get it printed and coloured.  I will enter the card into this weeks Willow Sketchie (sketch), Passion for Promarkers (at least 3 layers) challenges and this months Ready Teddy Go (for the boys) challenge.

We Three Kings

This weeks ABC Christmas challenge is 'L is for lyrics'.  I have made this card based on the hymn 'We three Kings'.  I will also enter the card into this weeks MAWTT (kraft) and Willow Sketchie (sketch) challenges.

Catching Butterflies

I got this digi image from Digidoodle shop last week and really wanted to get it coloured.  I love fun images.  I will enter the card into this weeks Digidoodle shops best (sketch), Passion for Promarkers (at least 3 layers) and Willow Sketchie (favourite colour combo- green and purple) challenges.

Message in a bottle

This months CMLI challenge is 'celebrate a new beginning and open a bottle'.  I got this great ship digi image from Digidoodle Shop yesterday with my prize from last week and decided to put it straight into use by making a ship in a bottle card.  I will also enter the card into this weeks Di's Digidownloads (male), Digidoodle Shops Best (male) and Cute Card Thursday (water) challenges.

Happy Birdie

I just love the 'little birdie' download from Digistamp Boutique.  I'm not so sure about the papers I have used on this card- might have to make another with different papers.  I will enter the card into this weeks Willow Sketchie (sketch) challenge.

BBQ anyone?

I've had this Chester image from Pollycraft for a while now and have not used it yet.  It's just the right time of year for BBQs now though (or would be if it stops raining in the Uk).  I was thinking of giving this card to Dad for Father's Day.  Not sure yet- might use a different one...
Anyway I will enter the card into this weeks Sweet Sketch Wednesday (sketch), Willow Sketchie (animals), Di's digidownloads (male) and Digidoodle shops best (male) challenges.

June CMLI challenge

The new monthly challenge have started on CMLI and it is Clare's turn to be DT first.  This months theme is 'celebrate a new beginning and break open a bottle'.  I have used my super new LOTV stamp from Lauren which I got for my birthday to make this card (thanks sooo much Lauren).  So I guess that the 'new beginning' is the new stamp and the bottle/bubbly wine is in the image.  I have a couple of other thoughts on this challenge and so no doubt I will make another card in the next few weeks!

Planes, trains and Automobiles...

... is the title of this weeks Cute Card Thursday challenge.  I decided to use my newly purchased Cuthbert car image to make this card.  I will also enter the card into the Tales of Pollycraft linky party.

Pink Lenny

It has been ages and ages since I have used a Stampfairy image for some reason.  I printed this off a couple of weeks ago and it caught my eye this weekend and so it has finally been made into a card.  I will enter the card into this weeks Sweet Sketch Wednesday (sketch) and I love Promarkers (digi) challenges.

Diamond Julibee!

Did everyone have a nice weekend?  Such a pity that the weather has been so horrid after the lovely sun we had the week before.  Thought I'd get a little festive and have made a card.  The papers are from the Pink Petticoat Jubilee freebie- well worth checking out if you haven't already!
I will enter the card into this weeks Digi Doodle Shops Best (bunting), I love Promarkers (digi) and MAWTT (cool Britannia) challenges and the Tales of Pollycraft Linky party.

Keep it Simple

This weeks ABC Christmas challenge is 'K is for keep it simple'.  This is a very simple card for me.  Does it work?  I'm not so sure.  I tried to add snowflakes round the edge but they don't show up on the photo very well.

Christmas lights

This months CCAYR challenge is the theme twinkle, twinkle lights.  I have decided to go a bit CAS with this card using my new background stamps again from Clare.  Not really traditional Christmas colours, but hopefully it is a bit of a fun card- certainly fun to make at any rate!  I will also enter the card into this weeks ABC Christmas challenge (keep it simple).

Footie mad

Seeing as Euro 2012 and the Olympics are nearly upon us I have made this football themed card. I kept the colour scheme very much in support of England and so probably not the best idea for the Olympics, were I think we will be having a GB football team for the first time.
I will enter the card into this weeks Di's Digi download (male card), Willow Sketchie (sketch), I love Promarkers (digi) and Passion for Promarkers (inspired by Olympic ring image) challenges and the Tales of Pollycraft linky party.
