Let it Snow

This weeks CMLI challenge was set by Karen and the theme was 'let it snow'.  Well it hasn't snowed this weekend but it sure feels like winter- sooo much rain and wind here and cold with it.  When is summer, or spring to think of it, going to come??? I hope it improves as we enter May next week.
I will enter this card into this weeks Pollycraft (sketch), ABC Christmas (H is for hardware- metal label holder round the sentiment), Di's digidownloads (animals), Cute Card Thursday (animals) and Passion for Promarkers (die cuts- snowflakes and the shape behind the image) challenges.

With Thanks

Thought I'd challenge myself this weekend to use some papers which haven't seen the light of day for a long time.  I didn't get very far I guess- only made this one card, but there is always next weekend.  Anyone else do that- keep buying more stash without realising that you already have loads???  Can you ever have too much I wonder?
This is a super cute Lucy image from Digistamp Boutique and I have followed the sketch from this weeks WSC challenge.

Cupcake anyone?

I've not used this stamp much, but thought I'd get him out this weekend.  Coloured in blue instead of a more conventional green for a dragon- does it work??
Anyway, I will enter this card into this weeks Sweet Sketch Wednesday (sketch), CES (cupcakes or candy) and Passion for Promarkers (die-cuts- the star and the circle behind it are die-cut) challenges.

Another Wedding Card!

I wasn't expecting to make another wedding card so soon after the last, but someone from a neighbouring office at work (who I don't see that often) told everyone last Thursday that she is getting married next Saturday.  I expect that tomorrow people in my office will ask 'Louise do you have a card for *'s wedding?' and so I pre-empted the question and made one.  The photo isn't the best- the light today is terrible with the rain!
I have used Cherry Kisses wedding from Pollycraft and followed the sketch from this weeks Pollycraft challenge.

A spot of gardening

I have just fallen in love with some of the new Digistamp Boutique designs and the cards that the DT gave made with them.  Here's my first attempt with the 'In the garden-veggies' set.  I will also enter the card into this weeks MAWTT (in the garden) and WSC (things outdoors) challenges.

Lucy and reindeer

This weeks ABC Christmas challenge is 'H is for Hardware'.  This means add something metal to your card. I remembered I bought a box of little bells last year that I hardly used and so got one of them out to add to this card.  The image is one of the Christmas Lucy collection from DigiStamp Boutique and I have decoupaged the little reindeer.  I will also enter this card into this weeks Di's Digi challenge (animals), Cute Card Thursday (metallic) and Willow Sketchie (sketch) challenges).

April Showers

Well in the Uk we have certainly had a lot of April showers this year, haven't we?!  I think there are more due this week too.  This is a Pollycraft image that I bought yesterday after having admired it for ages on the DT cards.
I will enter the card into this weeks Digi Doodle Shops Best (April showers), Willow Sketchie (3 brads), Cute Card Thursday (metallic- brads) and CES (button it) challenges.

Marley and flower

Yesterday, Lauren set the CMLI sketchie and the theme was 'just because'.  Paula from Pollycraft also released 12 new digis yesterday and there is currently a special offer on all Pollycraft images on.  I made good use of the special offer and went and got this super image.
I will enter the card into this weeks Pollycraft (cute critters), Di's digidownloads (animals) and CES (button it) challenges.

Cute Critters

This weeks Pollycraft challenge is the theme cute critters.  I had this Chester image that I hadn't yet used that I printed out and was waiting for me.  I will also enter the card into this weeks Cute Card Thursday challenge (metal elements- paper clip).

Cute dino

Not sure why but I have had this image for ages and not used it.  I saw it at the weekend while I was going through my digis deciding on what to print off and use.  I was intending to make a really bright card with a bright green dino but it ended up blue/purple!
I will enter the card into this weeks Willow Sketchie (spots and stripes) challenge and this months Digistamp Boutique monthly customer competition.

Spots and Stripes

This weeks Willow Sketchie challenge is the theme 'spots and stripes'.  I made this birthday card using a Pollycraft Swings and Slides image.  It follows the sketch from this weeks Sweet Sketch Wednesday challenge and I will also enter it into this weeks Cute Card Thursday challenge (spring flowers).

New Home

I wanted to make a card for a friend who has moved house recently or is about to move house.  This image was only released recently by Digistamp Boutique and is a little bit different to what I would normally use. However I have seen how other people would use it and so thought I'd have a go.  The card hasn't really turned out as I had planned, but then I don't think I did enough planning!  I'll definitely have another go with the image sometime.  I will enter the card into this weeks Willow Sketchie challenge (sketch).

A third wedding card!

Not sure why, but I have made a third wedding card in 2 weeks today.  I only needed one card for Mum and Dad to send to their French neighbours, but I seem to be in the mood for wedding cards.  I also had never used this Chester image before and wanted to give it an outing...
Anyway, this card was really inspired by Cherry's sketchie challenge on CMLI today.  It was a good one- a sketch and some pictures on story cubes from which to take inspiration.  One of the story cubes seemed to be a wine glass and so that is the most direct link to my card.  There was also a Fairy Tale Castle, which made me think of Princesses and to my mind everyone looks like a Princess on their wedding day (or at least females do and men look like Princes).  (Plus, don't most Fairy Tales end with a wedding and a happily ever after??)
I will also enter this card into this weeks I love Promarkers and Passion for Promarkers challenges (both white on white).

Sunshine Moments

Yesterday on CMLI Rosie set the weekly themed challenge of 'sun shine' moments.  We certainly needed to be reminded this weekend of what the sun looks like since it has rained pretty much constantly here (today at least)!  We NEED the rain though and so I'm not complaining.  I made this card for the challenge using the sketch from this weeks Sweet Sketch Wednesday challenge.  I'm not sure the photo quite does the card justice as some of the papers are glittered and I have made the middle section into a window for Tilda to sit on.  I will also enter the card into this weeks CES challenge (pearls and swirls).

Gold, white and a touch of green

This weeks ABC Christmas challenge is the colour combo, gold, white and a touch of green for the letter 'G'. I will also enter this card into this weeks CES (swirls and pearls) and Ready-Teddy-Go (sketch) challenges.

Yummy Easter

This weeks CMLI challenge was set by Rosie and it was to take inspiration from a photo of mini eggs.  I decided to make this last minute Easter card with Fluffy the 'wabbit' from the Cogs and Critters Pollycraft collection.  I have tried to use 'mini' egg' colours too.
I will enter this card into this weeks I love Promarkers (spring), Di's Digi Downloads (Easter) and Cute Card Thursday (candy) challenges.

On Your Wedding Day

In the mood for wedding cards and so I made another.  This time I have used a Digistamp Boutique image and have followed the sketch from this months Ready-Teddy-Go challenge.  I am new to this challenge, but it looks right up my street as I love my teddies!  Thanks to their new DT member, Debs, to directing me to the blog.

A 6(0)th card

I made this card today; another of my commissions from Mum.  It is actually for a family friend who turns 60 in May.  Now I look at the photo I see that the button I had stuck on next to the '6' has fallen off and so it looks like a '6' card not a '60' card.  Needless to say, I have just spent the last 10 minutes on my knees trying to find the button, to no avail.  A replacement has been stuck on instead and no doubt the original will turn up when I least expect it.
Anyway, the image is one of the new releases from Pollycraft which I think is perfect for the recipient who is a keen sailor.  I will enter the card into this weeks Pollycraft (water) and Willow Sketchie (sketch) challenges.

Beary wedding

Mum has recently commissioned a number of cards from me and so I thought I'd better make a start on actually making them!  This is a wedding card for their French neighbours who are getting married in August this year.  For some reason I really like using white on white for wedding cards, but here I have added a touch of silver too.  I have kept the design fairly minimalist and created the background by stamping and distressing in silver ink.  Both the flourish die and sparkle stamp are new purchases from the NEC craft show the other Saturday.  I will enter the card into this weeks Digi Doodle Shops Best challenge (something new).

Something different

Last Saturday, at the NEC, I brought a template from Cathie Shuttleworth to make a Russian Doll.  It's been ages since I've done any 'paper engineering' and I used to enjoy it and so I was inspired by her stand to try my hand again.  This is the first doll- more of a test run really to see what it turned out like.  I'm quite happy with the results and so may try and make a little family of them...
I will enter the doll into this weeks I love Promarkers (bead it- the face is drawn using a Letraset fineliner and coloured with my PMs) challenge.
