Life's a Beach

This weeks challenge on DCD is the theme 'Life's a Beach'. I have water coloured (for a change) this Cute Companions image so that the mouse is flying a kite on the beach (I think kite flying is mainly done on beaches anyway, due to the wind off the sea!). I have used palm tree backing paper, shell embellishments and raffia to give it a beach-like feel.

Summer Loving

This weeks challenge for Pear Tree Designs is the theme 'summer loving'. Well I think we have summer here at the moment in the UK and so the theme is a great for this week! I have made this card using an ice cream image I got in an image swap on CB. I also found a relavent sticker for the sentiment, which I didn't know I had!

Pink Ice Cream

This weeks I love Promarkers challenge is to follow the sketch. I have made this card with a cute CC design image given to me for my birthday by Kylie (CB- thankyou). I think I may have gone a bit OTT on the pink on this card! (The image is of course coloured with PMs.)

A cup of tea

This card uses the sketch from this weeks Pear Tree Designs challenge and the theme of this weeks Passion for Promarkers challenge (favourite things- mine being a cup of tea, rather than the mice!). The image is one I got in an image swap on CB (I think it is from Karen- thankyou if it is!) and the papers are the spring pack which came free with Cardmaking and Papercraft earlier in the year.

DCD Challenge 54

This weeks DCD challenge is to make a brithday card for a teenage boy using the colours green and blue. This was quite difficult I thought, since I have no idea really what a teenage boy would want on a birthday card. In the end I opted for Party Lofty and some papers which came free with a magazine (I think they are meant for father's day, but have a male theme).

Waterfall Bears

This weeks challenge on LGS (CB) was a sketchie set by Rosie and the twist that something had to 'twist' or move!!! I really liked this challenge, as it made me think and try out some paper engineering which I haven't done for a while. I made a few cards, but I will also enter this one here into this weeks I love Promarkers challenge, which has the theme of bears. This is a waterfall card and the stamped images (coloured with PMs) are from the Bentley Bear set which came free with Cardmaking and Papercraft a few months ago. The waterfall mechanism I made myself (after having to look it up in a mag. to remind myself of how to make it!)

Passion for Promarkers

This weeks PFP challenge is to follow the sketch and to make a 'male themed' card. I have used this cute LOTV image from Karen (which I received in an image swap on CB- thankyou!), with blue patterned papers. The image is coloured with PMs and edged in chalk inks.

Father's Day

This is my card for Dad for Father's Day. I made it a few weeks ago, but have postponed posting the photo til later to reduce the chance of him seeing it before Sunday. However he doesn't check my blog often and so I think I might be OK to post it today.
The image is Ronnie Relaxing (a charity image from Pollycraft) which is ideal for Father's Day. I will enter this card into this weeks Pear Tree Designs challenge, which is Father's Day cards.

Sugar Sweet

This weeks challenge for DCD was to make a card with the theme 'strawberries and chocolate'. I have used a Cuddly Buddly image sent to me by Clare (thanks). The brown background represents the chocolate and the strawberries are visible!

Cheers

This Forever Friends image was sent to me by KathyK for my birthday and I thought it was just right for this weeks challenges- Pollycraft Monday 'lets have a song' (songs which came to mind were Champagne Supernova (Oasis) or Congratulations (Cliff Richard)) and I love Promarkers bears.

Good Luck

Next week my brother starts a new job and so I wanted to make him a good luck card. This Lofty is great for good luck cards I think. I have used the sketch from this weeks I love Promarkers Challenge and coloured the image, sentiment and background with PMs. (I am quite pleased with the stamped background- not something I normally do.)

Birthday Girl

The theme this week for the Passion for Promarkers Challenge is 'pink Birthday'. I have made this girly birthday card with lots of pink...The coiled flowers are handmade and the image is coloured with PMs. Since I have used ribbon and bling, I will also enter this card into this weeks Pollycraft challenge.

Little Angel

Wow I can't believe that I made the top 3 last week for the DCD challenge!!! Here is my entry for this week. The theme is 'Angels' and I have used a cute CC Design image given to me by Clare (thanks). I'm not sure if she is an angel or just a fairy, but she looks 'angelic' and I have given her a halo.I will also enter this card into this weeks Pear Tree Designs challenge, since I have used their sketch and included a flower (this weeks twist).

L is for Light

This time the challenge for the ABC Christmas blog is 'L is for light' with an optional extra of a Christmas tree. I wasn't quite sure what to do for this one, since I don't have any images with Christmas lights on, but I found this peel off of a candle. I have put it on acetate, with glitter on the front of the acetate and colour on the back. Hence, not only is it a picture of a light source, but light can come through the aperture and sparkle a bit. (Sorry about the thumb in the photo, but I had to hold the card shut to take the photo, else the flash obliterated it.)

Decopatch

I got a Decopatch kit and book for my birthday (thankyou so much Nicola) and have decorated the mother rabbit. It is really effective and almost magical the way the papers are transformed by the glue/varnish when you stick them down, to give a great finish. I have my eye on more projects now...

Reading owls

I have made this card for this weeks Passion for Promarkers challenge (books) and used the recipe from this weeks I love Promarkers challenge (2 backing papers, 1 ribbon and 3 buttons). The image is from Digi stamp boutique (Bernard the Owl collection). The colours of PMs I have used are mustard, raw sienna, cocoa, henna, forest green, pine, sky blue, burnt orange and bright orange.

Celebration

This weeks DCD Challenge was to make a celebration card with a number on it. I thought this would be the perfect opportunity to make a card for one of Mum's friends who is 60 in September. I have used a Tilda image I received from Rosie (thankyou!) with my birthday cards. I have also made my own flowers using tutorials 2 and 3 from Karen's blog. I didn't have the punches to make exact copies of the flowers from tutorial 3, but have adapted it a bit. I have also coloured them with PMs, rather than distress inks. I will also enter this card into this weeks Pear Tree Designs challenge, which is to make a project with flowers on it.
