Monkeying around ;-)

I saw this pattern on Pinterest and thought I had to have a go. The red, green, blue stripes were perfect for the ends of wool that I had at the time.

 Of course I ended up buying more wool to complete him. He is GIANT! About 3 foot tall I think!

 Monkey can be mean too!

 One monkey wasn't enough... I had to make a second- one for each of my friends sons. Hence monkey two: blue, yellow and grey.

 Twin brothers.

I hope Monkey and Monkey Two enjoy their new home when they arrive. I certainly had fun in their company.

Helicopter

I was asked to make a crocheted helicopter for my friends son as he is getting confused between planes and helicopters (I made him a plane a few months ago). Unsurprisingly there aren't many patterns for helicopters and so I 'free hooked'.

 Quite pleased with the result. Think it looks enough like a helicopter not to confuse things further? The eyes and mouth probably don't help (oh dear).

Baby blanket...

... mark three I think! I got given loads of scraps of wool and decided to use the pastel colours to make this blanket (and then as normal had to buy more to finish it off (white)). OK, a bit of a mismatch of colours and too girly for a baby boy, but hopefully it will do the job.

Something different

I got this idea from something someone printed off from Pinterest. The base is a polystyrene ring from hobbycraft. On top I wrapped fabric cut into strips and wool (stuck down with uhu glue which dissolved the polystyrene slightly- oops!).

 The flowers are made from fabric scraps and glue. Quite pleased with the result.

Penguin

Slowly making my way through all the patterns in my amigurumi book that I haven't yet tried. This penguin was on the list...

Red cat

I saw this pattern on line a while ago but finally got round to making it last week. Smaller than I thought but could make another bigger if I wanted, I guess.

Another inventive animal from wool scraps. What's wrong with a purple zebra???!

Someone gave me loads of ends of balls of wool that they didn't want last week. This was one of the first things I made with them.
