ATB IV- robot!

OK I may have gone a bit mad with ATBs but I wanted to experiment a bit.  Dad had two offcuts of wood from DIY that I pinched.  This is the first one.  The wood was sanded, coated in gesso and then white and navy acrylic (in that order).  I sanded back some of the blue paint before stamping in Staz On..  Next were some random dots and splodges of gloss varnish to act as a kind of resist before a layer of silver paint, wiped back.
I drilled some shallow holes and screwed in the screws before adding a bit of washi tape decoration and inking the edges in black.  The buttons were glued on or attached with wire.

ATB III

My third ATB and I went with card again. This time slightly smaller (4cm side for the cube).  The card was actually an offcut of a masterboard I made last year using Paperartsy stamps (Clare Llyod;s and a freebie that I was given) with acrylics and black staz on.
The cube was assembled with washi tape (both structural and decorative!).
I added some Tim Holtz word stickers, doodled in pen and covered in a little gloss varnish to finish.
Think it works quite well as a creative mojo prompt :-)

First Christmas card of 2015!

Oh dear!  Its bad that it is nearly November and this is only the 1st Christmas card that I have made this year.  Luckily I have a stash left over from past years so it not so bad.
For this card I used a DigiStamp Boutique image and the layout from this weeks Sketch Saturday challenge (very good sketch for using off cuts of paper I thought!).

Monster Birthday

I love DigiStamp Boutique monster images and printed this one off last week while browsing my hard drive.  The card follows this weeks Retrosketches layout.

Spooky monster

I made this Halloween card for two little boys.  I just hope that it isn't too scary for them.  To me the monster (a Digistamp Boutique image) is friendly, giving a hug with his outstretched arms, but maybe that is just my weird interpretation!
The card follows this weeks Sweet Sketch Wednesday layout.

Halloween witching

I saw this purple and orange cat paper in the pack I have from Tiger and knew I had to try it with a Halloween card.  The layout is from last weeks retrosketches challenge (oops a bit late!) and the image is an old Pollycraft one.

Artist Trading Blocks

Messing around with the idea of making some artist trading blocks.  These two use Clare's Paperartsy stamps.  The first is coloured with water colours.

and the second is coloured with Promarkers.

Monster hugs

Using a DigiStamp Boutique image and Tiger papers again I made this card- sort of Halloween, sort of not.

Three Pigs

I finished these three piggies a while ago but kept forgetting to photograph them for my blog.  They go with the wolf I made months ago from my Once Upon a Time in Crochet book.

Sweet Tweetings

I love these Chubby images from DigiStamp Boutique and thought it would go well with this combination of bright and cheerful Tiger papers.  The layout is from this weeks Sketch Saturday challenge.

Hi

A smaller journal page this time (made from scrap packaging).  Just experimenting around with different media and ideas at the moment.  I spotted some oil pastels in my pile and so got them out to make the background.  The stamping in black is using some Stamplorations stamps I have had for a while and not been able to use. (Must get my 'hand in' more with stamping so I don't smudge in future!)  The image is one of Clare's Paperartsy girls again.

Baby bunting

I bought these baby animal images from DigiStamp Boutique ages ago but this was the first opportunity I have had to use them.  I thought they would work well for bunting.  This is for a friend who is due in Jan 2016.

Why Hello!

I have been messing around slowly for a week or so on this canvas- really just trying out a few things rather than 'perfecting' it!  I used polyfiller (modelling paste substitute) with a stencil first for texture then black acrylic.  Butterflies were stencilled in acrylic and then there is stamping in both acrylic and black staz on plus silver ink, doodling....!
The image is one of Clare's Paperartsy girls. I will enter this canvas into the topic 19 Paperartsy challenge: faces.

Autumn Wreathes

Mum wanted an autumn wreath after seeing them in Canada last fall.  She has been hinting at me for a while but last Thursday I decided to pluck up the courage and have a go.  I opted for 'au natural' rather than buying plastic leaves etc (to go outside I couldn't use paper ones- my original idea).  This first wreath was made using two coat hangers as the base, apple wood twigs and string.  The decoration was from the garden.  Although there were quite a few plants with red berries in the garden, those with nice coloured leaves (which didn't fall off the moment I touched them) were a bit lacking.
On Friday I wanted to make a more 'leafy' wreath and so went for a walk up the road with a plastic bag!  The base of this wreath is just twigs and string (no coat hangers!!!).
The second wreath has made it to the front door while the first is hung up on one of the post of the decking by the back door.  I have a feeling the leaves are going to fall out of this one, but I can always top them up!

Raining Canvas

I definitely don't want it to start raining.  The Indian summer we are having is lovely!  However, I wanted to use this image and sentiment from Clare Llyod's Paperartsy set.  I experimented around a bit with the background- acrylic paint and then 'modelling paste' (actually poly filler!) through a stencil, fireworks paint spray, stamping in Stazon and acrylic....
