DigiStamp Boutique

Have you seen the new release 'Sea life set 1'?  I fell in love with it, especially the sentiments :-)
I don't know about you, but I was certainly a little crabby last week when the weather was so hot:
I will enter this card into this weeks Sketch Saturday and I love Promarkers challenge.

And can anything be better than sending someone 'hugs and fishes' when they are under the weather?
I will enter this card into this weeks Stamplorations challenge.
Inspired to get fishy? Sea ya soon ;-)

Obscured

This weeks ABC Christmas challenge is 'O is for Obscured'.  They want to see sentiments or images hidden away.  I made a trifold gate type card with the sentiment hidden behind the first flap.  The image is from the Cute Robin Chicklets set from DigiStamp Boutique and I have followed this weeks layout for the Sweet Sketch Wednesday challenge.

Up, Up and Away

I saw the sketch for this weeks RetroSketches challenge last night and this image from DigiStamp Boutique (Bon Voyage set) came to mind.  What do you think?

Me Time Messages Week 3

It is already week three of Clare's 'Me Time Messages' project and this is my take on it.  For starters, I didn't have a suitable mask and so did a bit of junk journaling (posh term for recycling???) and made one from the lid of an old ice cream box:
I think making the mask was very fitting for the word I chose this week- something I need to work on.  Rushing ahead with a craft knife and the ice cream box lid was only going to end in a mess and so I took my time for once and planned it out.  Not to say that I rush headlong into everything in life, just at times I could do with a little more patience.
Quote: Lack of patience in small matters can create havoc in great ones'.
Quote: Patience is no simply the ability to wait but the way we behave while we're waiting.
I didn't have suitable colours in inks and so have used acrylic paints with my mask.  The stamps are from Kaisercraft- the circles stamped in silver and embossed in black, while the numbers were stamped and embossing in black.
Had fun making this yesterday- thanks Clare :-)

Happy Thoughts

I made this card in the week.  The heat embossing/resist didn't work as well as I had hoped (I find heat embossing difficult- perhaps I need a new ink pad as the embossing powder goes everywhere but stay on the page when I heat it). but with a bit of extra stamping it looks OK (ish).  I will enter the card into this weeks Stamplorations challenge.

DigiStamp Boutique

Have you spied the 'Cute Robin Chicklets' set that has recently been released from DigiStamp Boutique?  I am a BIG fan of the chicklets images.  I thought I would make a couple of Christmas cards in non-traditional colours.
This card follows the current Retro Sketches layout.

Even made a little tag to co-ordinate with this one.

Me Time Messages

Well crafting is definitely my 'me time' each week and it really helps me relax and switch off from everything else that might have happened so I face the next Monday morning with my batteries to some extent refreshed.  I tend to struggle a little on the art journaling front- both with the journaling (I don't write a diary and it has no appeal whats-so-ever to do so) and the 'arty' side.  But then again, every so often I like to push my crafting out of my comfort zone and I tend to have the most fun on those mini 'journeys'.
Clare's summer Me Time Messages project is great!  The videos are perfect for a novice like me who looks at a piece of paper and a tube of paint and doesn't know where to start.  Last week was the first week and since I went home for the weekend I am a little behind.  Never mind, what are the evenings for, other than adding the next coat of gesso or paint to a project?  I think that my 'journal' envelopes have improved from the first to this weeks, so maybe there is hope by the end of the summer... ;-)
The quotes and images may be a little random, but then it is for 'me' and by 'me' ;-)
Here is the message holder:
The quote; 'Learn from yesterday, live for today, hope for tomorrow. The important thing is not stop questioning'.
 Week one's message:
Quote: (above) 'If we knew what we were doing, it would not be called research, would it?' (below) 'An expert is a person who had made all the mistakes that can be made in a very narrow field.'  (spot the typo (deliberate of course;-)?)
 Week Two's message:
Quote 'When you are different sometimes you don't see the millions of people who accept you for what you are.  All you notice is the person who doesn't'
Many, many thanks Clare for the inspiration for this project and so the hours and hours you must be putting in each week for the videos and expert samples.  Can't wait til Friday now :-)

Scooting by

I really like this little set from DigiStamp Boutique and had to get it out again this weekend.  This time I have used the current Sweet Sketch Wednesday layout on my card.

Just to say...

... I like making these type of cards.  Never know when they come in handy.  On this one I used a Pollycraft image and this weeks Sketch Saturday layout.  I will also enter the card into this weeks Little Miss Muffet (anything goes) and I love Promakers (girls) challenges.

1st Christmas

MY cousin had a little boy the other week and so since the current ABC Christmas challenge is 'numbers' I thought I would make a '1st Christmas' card for him.  The image is a fairly old one from DigiStamp Boutique.  I have used this weeks Mojo Monday layout and will enter the card into this weeks Passion for Promarkers (Christmas in July) challenge.

Heart strings

Not sure if I have used this Pollycraft image before or not but I like it.  I made this card following a RetroSketches layout from weeks ago.  I will enter the card into this weeks I love Promarkers (girls) challenge.

DigiStamp Boutique

I have been lucky enough to play with the new 'Beach hut' image from DigiStamp Boutique and have made two cards.
The first is perhaps more 'grown up'.  The sun and cloud come from this set.
I went a little colour mad on the second card and teamed the image with a Rosie one from last year.  The sentiment is from this set.

And while I as at it, I had to make one for a boy:
This final card uses the Cheeky Monkey 'ice cool' image and follows this weeks Sketch Saturday layout.

Baby boy!

My cousin had a baby boy this week!  I didn't know when she was due and so hadn't made a card in advance.  Hence that was today's task.  This card uses a Bobby image from DigiStamp boutique and follows this weeks Stamplorations sketch.

Anniversary card

I think this one will be for my parents. I know the colours are wrong (it is their 40th (ruby not golden)) but perhaps more apt than the last one I made.  I used the 'happy' sentiment builder stamps from Stamplorations for the first time on this card.  They were so easy to use.  I know that sounds odd, but I normally find 'real' stamping difficult.  These ones will be coming out again though :-)

I will enter the card into this months Stamplorations challenge (stamps and glitter).

Christmas mail

I guess it is that time of year when we have to start making Christmas card in earnest to avoid the last minute panic.  Or maybe I just like Christmas images?  This Pollycraft image has to be one of my favourites from the Swings and Slides Christmas collection.

I will enter the card into this weeks Little Miss Muffet (sketch), I love Promarkers and ABC Christmas (m is for mail) challenges.

DigiStamp Boutique

As many of my regular followers know, I am an avid fan of DigiStamp Boutique images.  I was over the moon the other day when Sally-Ann asked if I would like to do a GDT spot.  As usual, I have been card making this weekend and have three DSB cards to show.
The first uses a Christmas image which was released last year.  I am still playing catch up on the Christmas images I bought last Autumn and haven't used yet.  This sweet robin set is very cute :-).
I will enter the card into this weeks Sketch Saturday, I love Promarkers (anything goes) and Passion for Promarkers (wings) challenges.
Perhaps it is a bit hard to think of Christmas at this time of year!  The next card is more seasonal.  These cheeky monkey images have to be some of my favourites at the moment.  They are so fun and really great to colour.
The sentiment is from this set and is perfect for cards 'just to say... hello' (or whatever really).  I will enter the card into this weeks Sweet Sketch Wednesday challenge.
And finally, my favourite of the three, another cheeky monkey card (this time from the kids set):
I broke open a new pad of papers I had been saving for a 'special occasion' on this card ;-)  The card follows this weeks Sketch Saturday layout.
