A Christmas card for 2013!

Well, better to make a start now while I am in the mood. (Also I wanted to use this DigiStamp Boutique image again).  I will enter the card into this weeks ABC Christmas (Z is for zoo animals- you can get owls in zoos in the UK) challenge.

Christmas Tree

This is another stamped image which was given to me by Debs- thanks so much.  I was inspired to use it this weekend after receiving my Christmas card from her where she had used the image: it was such a amazingly stylish card!  I think I failed to live up to Deb's standard but this is my attempt:
I will enter it into this weeks ABC Christmas ('Y'our favourite die/punch: my oval nesties) and Willow Sketchie (theme: quick makes) challenges.

CAS FF card

I'm not much good at CAS cards but every now and again I like to have a go at making one.  This is using a Forever Friends image that I was given.  I will enter the card into this weeks ABC Christmas ('Y'our favourite die- my oval nesties) and Willow Sketchie (theme- quick makes) challenges and this months Ready Teddy Go challenge (CAS).

Red and Green

Well, I guess you have to make some red and green cards at Christmas, don't you?
I will enter the card into this weeks Cute Card Thursday (red and green), I love Promarkers (anything goes) ABC Christmas (X- faux x-stitch across the border paper in the middle of the card) and Willow Sketchie (sketch) challenges.

Putting up the tree

Have you put your tree up yet?  We haven't.  Mum says we might do it next weekend.  I love this DigiStamp Boutique image of Percy the penguin dragging the tree home to decorate.
I will enter this card into this weeks ABC Christmas ('X'), I love Promarkers (anything goes), MAWTT (twine, tree and turquoise) and Willow Sketchie (sketch) challenges.

Pillow Boxes

I don't normally make Christmas packaging for gifts as they tend to end up straight in the bin in our house which is a little disheartening if you have spent hours making it.  However, I grew a chilli plant this summer and have lots of chillies which I have dried.  I will give some away as gifts and so have made a couple of pillow boxes to put them in:
I will enter these into this weeks ABC Christmas (w is for wrapping) and this months Ready Teddy Go (not square) challenges.

Christmas tags #2

These are a second batch of Christmas tags I made yesterday, all using DigiStamp Boutique images:

I will also enter these into this weeks ABC Christmas challenge (w is for wrapping- I hope that tags count as part of gift wrapping; if they don't then I am sorry and just ignore my entry).

Christmas Party

It has been ages since I made an easel card but i was inspired to do so by this months Christmas Cards all year round challenge (shaped cards or fancy folds).  This is a bit of a comedy card using a Bugaboo image which I got last week.  I will also enter the card into this weeks ABC Christmas challenge (vivid colours).

Three French Hens

I was away in September and for part of October and so missed R, S and T of the ABC Christmas challenge this year.  I thought I would try and catch up and so this is for T (Twelve Days of Christmas- 3 French Hens) as well as the current V is for vivid challenge.  The image is a new one from Bugaboo stamps that I got with my prize from last weeks Sweet Sketch Wednesday challenge- thanks!  I have used the sketch from this weeks challenge for this card.  I will also enter the card into this weeks I love Promarkers (cute) and MAWTT (stitch up- faux stitches) challenges.

Carols at Christmas

Carol singing owls!  I have used a Willow Designs image for this card.  I tried to keep it plain and simple but ended up adding the ribbon and button.
I will enter the card into this weeks ABC Christmas (vivid colours) and Willow Sketchie (sketch) challenges.

Glittery Christmas

I actually probably have more than enough Christmas cards for sending out this year, but I like making them and maybe I can sell a few (?)  Not sure on that one, but in an ideal world...
For this one I have used the sketch from this weeks Sweet Sketch Wednesday challenge again.  I will also enter the card into this weeks I love Promarkers (Christmas), Willow Sketchie (theme- Christmas) and ABC Christmas (up to you) challenges.

Traditional/Non traditional

This months CCAYR challenge was either to use a traditional image with non traditional colours or vice versa.  I have been pondering on this for a long time now and I think I may have hit the answer today.  I don't think a dog ice skating is a 'traditional Christmas image' but I have teamed it with green and red colours- traditional: BINGO.
I will also enter this card into this weeks I love Promarkers (Christmas), Passion for Promarkers (pets), Willow Sketchie (sketch and theme- Christmas) and ABC Christmas (up to you) challenges.

This is another newish digi that got its first outing this weekend.  I will enter this card into this months Ready Teddy Go (pink, brown and cream) challenge and this weeks Sweet Sketch Wednesday (sketch), I love Promarkers (anything goes), Cute Card Thursday (glitter) and ABC Christmas (up to you) challenges.

Cheeky Elf

This elf was a freebie from Digistamp Boutique a few months ago and I have been meaning to use him for ages.  I will enter this card into this weeks Willow Sketchie (sketch), I love Promarkers (anything goes), ABC Christmas (up to you) and Cute card Thursday (glitter) challenges.

Q is for Quilting

I was blown away when Samantha from the ABC Christmas challenge blog asked if I would like to do a GDT spot this week since I haven't missed one of their challenges for nearly 2 years now.  The challenge for this fortnight is 'Q is for Quilting' and so they want to see lots of patchwork backgrounds on your cards.  I made my background out of scraps of paper, pieced together, embossed, distressed and with some faux stitching.  It is one of my favourite techniques, but does take a while to do!  I thought this image was very apt for the challenge too- Popcorn snuggled up in a quilt.
And matching tag:
There are some fab prizes, as always, from this weeks sponsors:

Good luck!

P is for paper piecing

Woo Hoo!  I won last weeks ABC Christmas challenge!  I have gone straight off and bought 7 digis from Bugaboo (my prize).  Here's my first card with my winnings...
I will enter it into this weeks ABC Christmas (paper piecing) and  sweet sketch Wednesday (sketch) challenges and this months CCAYR (children's Christmas) challenge.

O is for 'open it out'

This weeks ABC Christmas challenge is to make a card and decorate the inside too.  I decided to make a card with an aperture, so that the 'inside' was the 'outside' too.  I have used a DigiStamp Boutique image that  I love.  I will also enter the card into this weeks Willow Sketchie (sketch) challenge and this months CCAYR (children's Christmas) challenge.

Not a card

This weeks ABC Christmas challenge is 'n is for not a card'. I have made two gift tags using this super freebie from Digistamp Boutique.  The image was printed multiple times, coloured with PMs and then spray with gold glitter varnish before decoupaging up.  The base card for the tags is actually the card board box Mum's birthday present came in.
I will also enter these into this months CCAYR (Christmas flowers/foliage) and this weeks I love Promarkers (sparkle), Willow Sketchie (Christmas in July) and DigiDoodle Shops Best (anything goes) challenges.

2013 Calendar already!

This weeks ABC Christmas challenge is 'm is for make a Christmas present'.  I was really not in the mood for making a Christmas present- a card yes, but a present at this stage in the year seemed too hard.  Then I realised that since I will be away in September and then from November onwards, this gives me hardly any time and so perhaps I should start making presents.  Last year I made several calendars and they went down well, so I got some 2013 calendar tabs last Saturday and have made my first calendar for 2013!
I will enter the project into this weeks Passion for Promarkers (sketch) challenge and this months Ready Teddy Go (balloons) challenge.
