Happy Thoughts

I made this card in the week.  The heat embossing/resist didn't work as well as I had hoped (I find heat embossing difficult- perhaps I need a new ink pad as the embossing powder goes everywhere but stay on the page when I heat it). but with a bit of extra stamping it looks OK (ish).  I will enter the card into this weeks Stamplorations challenge.

  1. well you can't tell there is a problem! A lot of people swear by the ranger heat embosser as it's not so 'blowy' - I think Cherry got one from Newbury x

  2. I have a high heat embosser (almost like a paint stripper) which I use for heat embossing - I have virtually NO patience (ask anyone who's ever crafted with me!) and can emboss without issue with all but the Ultra Thick Embossing Enamel. You are probably right that you either need a new embossing ink pad or at least a re-inker. I use Versamark clear embossing pad for mine - good and juicy though; it's strange you should mention this, as I applied re-inker to my own only today!!!

Your card is delightful and, as Debs, said any "issues" don't show matey!

  5. Hi, Louise! I hear you on your embossing powder woes -- I had that issue about a year ago. Embossing powder wouldn't stick at all...until I switched to Versamark. You can also try heating the EP from underneath the paper. In any case, your card is still a lovely take on the sketch!
