Pumpkins!

I have seen LOADs of pumpkins for sale in Italy- not the normal ornage type that you get here just for carving but all sorts of shapes and sizes for eating.  Pumpkin tortellini is a regional spatiality in Modena.  I wish I could have brought a pumpkin home with me to eat but they are huge and it REALLY would not have fitted in my case.
In Lieu of the real thing here is a card:
I will enter this into this weeks Sweet Sketch Wednesday challenge (sketch), I love Promarkers (halloween), Di's digi downloads (too cute to spook) and Willow Sketchie (theme- buttons) challenges and this months CMLI challenge, set by Nicola, of 'the seasons'.

P.S Where I live in New Zealand it's known as one of the best market garden areas for it's rich brown volcanic soil. Apart from all the root vegetables, onions, potatoes and pumpkins are our biggest export crops especially to Japan and pumpkins are one of my very favourite vegetables. We have it roasted, boiled, steamed and mashed. It's also used in Scones, Sweet spicy muffins, cakes and loaves. They are easy peasy to grow and if you have a little garden it would be worth planting some seeds. The only problem is they have large leaves and big feelers. We mostly eat the grey and green coloured skin ones especially the market squash they have a very dry nutty texture and beautiful flavour. The large orange pumpkins here are used for animal feed and for Halloween carvings. Take care and have a great week.
