Thankyous

I'm a firm believer in saying 'thankyou' to people.  A little thing like sending someone a thankyou card (especially when they are not expecting it) can make all the difference to their day.
It's the Bentley Heath Country Market AGM today and there are so many wonderful people who have helped the market over the past year that it seems appropriate to thank them.
I decided to get a bit 'messy' and do something a bit different: these are mixed media cards.  The backgrounds were made using a brayer and acrylic paint, followed by stamping in various inks and colours.  (I also put a touch of glitter- more on some than others).  The sentiment stamps and feather are by Clearly Besotted while the flowers were free stamps from Craft Stamper magazine.  The rose and lily I coloured with water colour paints.

Hello

Hello 'Spring': surely spring should be on it's way now! :-) I went all out on this card and cut into some glittered papers and kraft card that I had been saving for ages.  Anyone else do that- save the papers and embellishments they love the most and then look back in ten years and wonder why?
I do still love this paper and kraft card, but if I use it, then I can buy more!!! LOL

Just a note...

Always good to have a few cards to send 'just because'.  I got this image from a friend (thankyou!).  The feature die was from a magazine years and years ago which I had never used before- quite like it!  I think it will be in action again!

Birthday Cake anyone?

I think Duke (the dog) isn't in the mood for sharing his cake, so you might be disappointed!

Stanley the puppy

This puppy image by DigiStamp Boutique has to be one of their cutest.  I'm not a big dog fan but reckon that if I had a dog like this one, with aplouring eyes I wouldn't be able to resist loving it.

Fabulous birthday!

Many times last year I looked in my card stash and found that I only had one (or maybe two) actual 'birthday' cards.  I seem to end up getting side-tracked into making non-specific cards.  They are great but occasionally you really need something that actually says 'birthday' on it...
Hence it was my aim this year to make more.  This is one made using an Alistair the Lion image by Digi Stamp Boutique.

Tweetest Wishes

I'm a massive fan of the Chubby character by DigiStamp Boutique- not sure why.  Maybe it is the shape of his face.  He seems to have 'character' as it were.
An apt sentiment for D. Trump maybe?? Lol!

Happy Valentine's Day

Not that I really celebrate Valentine's day, but any excuse to make a card ;-)
Image by DigiStamp Boutique. Looking at the card now I think the backing papers I chose might be a bit busy, but then it is for a (busy) bee card ;-)

With Love Birdies

Valentine's Day is nearly here!  I used images from a DigiStamp Boutique bird set to make up this card. Thought it would make a nice Valentine's card for one member of the couple to send to the other.

Happy 40th!

A friend's husband is 40 today!  Where has the time gone??? I remember making a 30th card for him. I can't believe that was 10 years ago!
Seeing as he is still passionate about sailing (when he gets the time, which isn't very often) I went with that theme again.
