Moos!

Clare is running a MOO swap on CMLI at the moment. I signed up and was greatly inspired by the moos that everyone else has made.  I think people are in general turning very 'arty' in their crafting.  As usual I am a million miles behind the trend and am yet to catch up.  For some reason I thought I'd attempt the moos from an arty perspective. They are very small (2.8cmx7cm!).  This is the first lot I made.  I kind of felt afterwards that I had cheated as they were so quick and so made a second batch.
Needing to de-stress yesterday afternoon I got quite messy (for me at least) with these.  First a coat of white acrylic, then decoupatch, followed by embellishments, glitter and finally sparkly spray varnish.  I know I have a long way yet to go on the arty journey, but it was an enjoyable 'toe in the water'.
I'd recommend making a moo if you are up for a challenge.  They are different and makes you think hardder about what to do.  Good luck and enjoy!

Pink Santa

Inspired by this weeks ABC Christmas challenge I thought I'd make another 'quilted' card (a good way to use up all those scrap bits of paper too).  I will enter this into this weeks Sweet Sketch Wednesday (sketch) Cute Card Thursday (bling) and Willow Sketchie (Christmas) challenges.

Barry Skiing

Not had much time for crafting this weekend, but I made this card at the end of last week and so will post it now.  I will enter it into this weeks Willow Sketchie (Christmas in August) and Cute Card Thursday (bling) challenges and this months Ready Teddy Go (anything goes) challenge.

Q is for Quilting

I was blown away when Samantha from the ABC Christmas challenge blog asked if I would like to do a GDT spot this week since I haven't missed one of their challenges for nearly 2 years now.  The challenge for this fortnight is 'Q is for Quilting' and so they want to see lots of patchwork backgrounds on your cards.  I made my background out of scraps of paper, pieced together, embossed, distressed and with some faux stitching.  It is one of my favourite techniques, but does take a while to do!  I thought this image was very apt for the challenge too- Popcorn snuggled up in a quilt.
And matching tag:
There are some fab prizes, as always, from this weeks sponsors:

Good luck!

In the garden

It hasn't been that hot here this weekend, despite all the weather forecasts saying that it was the hottest day of the year... well maybe in London, but the whole country is not in London!  It has been warm, but little sunshine apart from late this afternoon.  Anyway I made a gardening calendar, another Christmas present done a dusted!
I will enter this into this weeks I love Promarkers (gardens) and Willow Sketchie (sketch and kraft) challenges and this months DigiStamp Boutique customer competition.

Back to School

Gosh the summer seems to be flying, but I guess it is half way through August now.  School and school holidays are long in the past for me but my friend is going to start a teacher training position in September and so I made her a good luck card today.  I thought I was break from the usual and made a pyramid card- been a while but I made quite a few this time last year.  I enjoyed it and so must make some more!
I will enter this card into this weeks Cute Card Thursday (back to school), MAWTT (not a square) and Passion for Promarkers (shaped card) challenges.

2013 Calendar

Back with my mission to make a few Christmas presents, I decided to make another 2013 calendar today.  This time I have stepped outside my normal comfort zone and gone a bit arty (OK not much) with the back ground.  I tore up scraps of backing paper that were left over for ages and stuck them down randomly.  Then it has been coated with Decoupatch glue (glossy).  The kraft backing is actually a packaging box which Mum's birthday present came in.  The image is from Pollycraft. I will enter this into this weeks Waste not Wednesday and MAWTT (summer) challenges.

Party!

This is another card using one of the images I won from Bugaboo.  I wanted to make a fun card to give to a friend next weekend as she will have finished her job then (a cause for celebration as she didn't like it- she has another lined up and so it is not a bad thing :-)).  I will enter the card into this weeks Willow Sketchie (sketch) and Waste not Wednesdays challenges (all the backing papers are scraps).

Juggling

I bought this digi just before Pollycraft closed and this is the first time I have used it.  I will enter the card into this months Ready Teddy Go (anything goes- blog hop too!!) challenge.

P is for paper piecing

Woo Hoo!  I won last weeks ABC Christmas challenge!  I have gone straight off and bought 7 digis from Bugaboo (my prize).  Here's my first card with my winnings...
I will enter it into this weeks ABC Christmas (paper piecing) and  sweet sketch Wednesday (sketch) challenges and this months CCAYR (children's Christmas) challenge.

Blue Christmas

I seem to be in the grove for making Christmas cards with non traditional colours at the moment.  This uses a super DigiStamp Boutique image.
I will enter the card into this weeks Willow Sketchie (sketch) challenge.

RTG blog hop!

I'm a sucker for cute cards and so making one with a teddy bear is my kind of thing.  Hence I love the RTG challenge blog! They are having a blog hop at the moment...

Cute Christmas

I made this card with the following challenges in mind- Willow Sketchie (1 charm, 2 papers, 3 gems), Sweet Sketch Wednesday (sketch), CCAYR (kids Christmas), DigiStamp Boutique (monthly customer competition), I love Promarkers (spot and stripes) and Digi Doodle Shops Best (ribbon and bows).

O is for 'open it out'

This weeks ABC Christmas challenge is to make a card and decorate the inside too.  I decided to make a card with an aperture, so that the 'inside' was the 'outside' too.  I have used a DigiStamp Boutique image that  I love.  I will also enter the card into this weeks Willow Sketchie (sketch) challenge and this months CCAYR (children's Christmas) challenge.

Aliens have landed!

I wanted to make a few fun ATCs and thought I'd use some images from the Pollycraft Cogs and Critters range.  I will enter these into this weeks I love Promarkers (spots and stripes) and Waste not Wednesday (all papers are scraps) challenges.

Garden ATCS

A couple more ATCs for the swap that I am running on CMLI at the moment.  I have used these super digi images from DigiStamp Boutique.  The format of the ATCs was inspired by Cherry's August challenge on CMLI- to be inspired by colour and the word 'garden'.
I will also enter these into this weeks MAWTT challenge (summer).
