This weeks challenge on the DCD blog is to make a card using black, white and one other colour only. This was alot harder than I thought now that I have got used to using Promarkers to colour images (I found that colouring the skin and hair alone used up too many colours). In the end I just inked around a black and white image I received in a recent image swap on Craftbubble. I have ended up making quite a few male cards recently and this is another. At least it means I can have a break for a while now!

Recipe card
This weeks Pollycraft challenge is a recipe. I have never done one of these before and found it fun. I was a bit unsure on the counting and so I hope I have done the right things. The recipe was 4 papers (I didn't know if card/paper which is just used for mounting counted in the number- I hope not since I have used 2 blue and 2 cream backing papers), 3 embellishments (2 flowers and one button), 2 ribbons/lace (black and white one and a maroon and white one) and one image (a Pollycraft freebie from a few weeks ago). Thanks for the challenge and hope there are more like that to come!

G is for 'Glitz'
The challenge this time on the ABC Christmas blog is g is for 'glitz' with an optional extra of silver. I made this K-Card with a Forever Friends image. I think the backing paper is very 'glitzy' and have put glitter on the image (the party hats). The image is matted onto silver and so is the sentiment. There are also some silver peel offs inside, but these don't show on the photo- wrong angle. I haven't made a K-card before and it wasn't difficult. Next time I must remember to cover the inside with backing papers and decorate before assembling!

LGS- 27th March
This weeks challenge was a sketch set by Rosie. The twist was to include buttons and to make a card for a man. I made these two cards with Joanna Sheen bear stamps which I got for Christmas 2008. I like them because they are appropriate for Dad, who likes watching sport on TV and doing DIY.

WSC- 25th March
This weeks WSC was set yesterday and was a sketch done by Lauren. I made this card tonight following the sketch. I think it might be the last Easter card I make this year- I seem to have made quite a few and want a change now! I wasn't intending to make another but I got this image in an image swap and thought it would be good on a spring/Easter card. I put flock on the sheep to make it a bit different.
Since the latest ECP challenge is to make a Easter project, I will enter this card into it as well.
Since the latest ECP challenge is to make a Easter project, I will enter this card into it as well.
I love Promarkers
This weeks challenge on I love Promarkers is to follow the sketch and include spots or dots on the card. I made this card using a Pollycraft image. I thought I'd try a different type of card for a change and so have made one with an aperture and the image swinging in it (not sure of the name, but seen other people make them and so was inspired!).

New Beginings
This weeks challenge on Die Cut Dreams is 'new beginings'. I thought I'd make a wedding card, since I think that a wedding symbolises a new begining in the bride and grooms life, although maybe it isn't much of a change in reality. The image is from Pollycraft.

Lets Get Stamping-20th March
This weeks sketchie was set by Cindy (GDT) and the twist was to include one of the three b's (one button, brad and bow). I made two cards- one with a Mousekins image and one with a High Hopes Dragon image. (Both images were sent to me in an image swap on Craftbubble- thankyou!).

My first easel card
This is the first time I have made an easel card. I keep seeing other people make them and so thought I'd have a go. It wasn't difficult and it was nice trying something new.
I have followed the sketch from this weeks WSC. The image was sent to me in an image swap on Craftbubble- thankyou to whoever sent it! It is very cute.
I will also enter this card into this weeks Pixie Dust Studio challenge, which is the power of three- to include something in threes on a card. Here I have used three buttons in a line and three flowers in the top right hand corner.

Pack a Punch
This weeks DCD challenge is to use at least two punches on a card. I made this card last night and have used a small daisy punch and a daffodil punch. The image is from Pollycraft.
Sparkly duck
I made this card for this weeks I love Promarkers challenge, which is to follow the sketch and make your own backing papers. I find making my own backing papers from stamping, distressing or embossing quite a difficult task and rarely do it. However I felt brave last night and so stamped and heat embossed some white card with presents in silver and dots (freehand) in Cosmic Shimmer turquiose. I'm not very good at heat embossing- it usually turns out messy. I think I might need an anti-static bag.The image is from Pollycraft and i really adore their ducks! This is a new one and is great for both birthdays and Easter. This weeks Pollycraft challenge is to make a card with sparkle. I think I have done that here, with the shiny heat embossed backing paper and the glitter glue on the cake icing.

My Favourite Things
I made this card for the lgs goup (craftbubble) using the sketch set by Lauren. (The sketch has been changed a bit- hope this is ok). The twist was 'favourite things'. This is my favourite High Hopes Dragon image that I got in the last stamp swap; I have used glossy accents to make the dragon shiny (which is one of my favourite things at the moment); I used a powder blue promarker to go round the image (my favourite colour!); and I have used my favourite buttons.I will enter the card into this weeks Pixie Dust Studio challenge because the theme is flowers and buttons, both of which I have used on this card.
St Patrick's Day
I made this card for the LGS (Craftbubble) challenge this week. The sketch was set by Lauren and the twist was 'favourite things'. I think I might have twisted it a bit by making a St Patricks day card for Mum on the idea that my family fall under the catagory of 'favourite things'. I also really like this stamp and I like trying out new ideas and have used one of the torn paper flowers which I saw how to make on Katie Jane's blog (Am I a Dreamer).
F is for 'Frosty'
This time on ABC Christmas the challenge is to make a project with the theme 'f is for frosty' and the twist was snow. I was a bit confused as to whether 'frosty' meant a snowman (I think it means this more in USA), or whether it could just mean cold, frosty scenes. I covered all bases I think by adding snowmen on the ribbon and a little snowman embellishment.I really liked this Willow Design download when I saw it first last June (I think) on LGS DT cards one week. I thought it was the perfect excuse to buy it and use it on this card. I have used the sketch from this weeks WSC so that I can link it to their blog too, since it is one of Sharon's designs.

Torn flowers
I couldn't let Lauren down, by only making one card this week for WSC :) and so this is my second card! I used Missy- the download that the DT have used this week. I tried to colour her in different colours to what I have used before. I think I made a mistake on the sky and should have used a paler blue- I'll know for next time.I also wanted to try out the technique of making torn flowers, which I saw on Katie-Jane's blog 'Am I a Dreamer'. They were easy to make and I think I'll use them again! I used eyelets in the centres- much to the annoyance of my neighbours probably (I live in a flat and I think hammering in the eyelets is quite noisy when everyone else is so quiet!!!).
Duck again!
I made this entry for this weeks WSC which was set by Rosie. I really like this Pollycraft freebie and have used a few times now! I was quite pleased with the result of this card as it turned out how I wanted it to- the first one to look OK in a while now (my other cards recently have been a bit bad).I will also enter this into the Pixie Dust Studio Challenge 12, which is to use button and flowers on a project.

Monkeys
I have made this card for this weeks challenge on I love Promarkers and DCD. I followed the sketch from the I love Promarkers challenge blog and the white strip across the card is embossed with circles (the twist was to include embossing somewhere on the card). The challenge this week on the DCD bog was to make a card without flowers and I think I have succeeded!
The image is one I got in the most recent swap on LGS (Craftbubble). I really like it. I'm not sure who it is by, but I do recognise the image. I used three of my button stash!! I like those ones too.
Sorry I haven't made a card for each challenge this week, but have been tired and not had enough time. Will try to do better next week.

Distressing
This weeks sketchie on Lets Get Stamping (Craftbubble) was set by Karen and the twist was to include distressing. Since the current Pollycraft challenge is to make a card with distressing I will enter these cards for that as well.
I'm not that good at distressing and found it distressing not to be using straight edges! These are my attempts. I think it might help if I had the right equipment and some distressing inks, but I made do with what I had already.
One card uses Missy download from Willow Designs and the other uses a chick from Pink Petticoat. The embossing on the chick card was done by hand using an old brass embossing stencil from Papermania and a light box.

Missy from Willow Designs!
I made this card using the sketch from last weeks Lets Get Stamping challenge and the new download from Willow Designs, Missy. (I made it this morning because I wanted to do some crafting but couldn't log on to check out the new LGS sketchie challenge- why does the internet always go awol at the weekend?) Missy is great and I will be using her again!
Second Card for WSC 4th Feb
This is my second card for this weeks challenge. I was inspired by the DT cards to make one with more than one stamped image. I used my Messy Rabbit stamps and combined a few of them in the one card.

WSC 4th February
This weeks challenge was set today. I decided to make an A6 card to put in a card bag for Cancer Research UK, since I seem to have been bad recently and forgotten to fill up my bags and bring them to the shop. Therefore I made this card tonight with a Pink Petticoat image. I love the way the DT have combined several downloads and images on thier cards this week- it made me think that I should get more inventive.
ECP-Challenge 7
Last weeks challenge was to make a project inspired by one of 5 on the ECP site. I loved the button braclet and made one. I only had enough yellow buttons to make a braclet and have been looking for different ones but didn't found any and so used the yellow ones.
I love Promarkers Challenge 4
This weeks challenge is to make a shaped card. There was no sketch this week to follow. I made this card with a Pollycraft download and some brightly coloured papers to give a spring like feel.

Die Cut Dreams Challenge
This weeks Die Cut Dreams Challenge was to follow a sketch drawn by Karen. I have made two Easter cards, both using digi images.
Pollycraft Challenge 35
This weeks Pollycraft challenge is to use distressing on a project. I have made this card using some torn papers and inked the torn edges in black. The image is a Polycraft one I bought last week and the papers came free with Cardmaking and Papercraft.
